As promised here are the photos for our quick visit to Ethnic Fest. The annual festival is coordinated by Metro Parks Tacoma and takes place at Wright Park. The first festival took place in 1986 with the intention of celebrating the community and its various cultures.
Having grown up in West Texas I wasn’t exposed to many different cultures. I mean there are different ethnicities in Odessa, but the majority makeup is Caucasian and Mexican-American. And coming from the south I understand that not all places in the country celebrate diversity. So it’s nice to live in a place that wants to bring all cultures together to celebrate their differences.
Here are some snap shots of that day:
Lot’s of vendors offering everything from jewelry and blankets to art and food.
Craig got this artist from Spaceworks Tacoma to make a name sign for Catarina.

I hope you enjoyed our photos. I really wanted to buy a blanket, but decided to play it smart and save my money. However I am kicking myself for not getting one of those beautiful woven baskets.
You can find more photos HERE including one of Liv looking at baskets.
