Curious Catarina turns 2

Happy birthday, Catbird!

I can’t believe it has been two years already. Time sure does fly when you’re sleep deprived.

We had a mini-celebration on Saturday – just the four of us.

birthday1
Catarina still hasn’t quite figured out fire. So Craig was on standby just in case.
birthday2
She did enjoy pulling out the banana chips and chocolate decorations.
birthday3
Her cake was from Corina’s Bakery in Tacoma. Maybe one year I’ll actually bake her cake. Maybe.
birthday4
She didn’t really eat any cake. Instead she fed me because she thought that was way more fun. Who am I to argue with her on her birthday?!

The cake was a vegan cake from Corina’s Bakery in Tacoma. It was the King’s Favorite a banana cake with peanut butter frosting crowned in a rich, dark chocolate ganache. Sinful.

For her birthday we bought her some much needed summer clothes and a wading pool. After cake, Craig inflated her pool and we let her and Molly play in it for a bit before nap time.

At first she wasn’t quite sure about the pool.

But with Daddy’s help she decided to give it a try.

Molly thought it was the greatest thing ever!

Finally enjoying her gift. I guess I better get her a bathing suit now.

Getting her out of the pool was a bit of a disaster. There were a lot of tears. She didn’t appreciate it when I softly sang “It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want too.” Also, there was no nap.

Greatest. Birthday. Ever.

I kid. It really was a good time. I love my little girl and wouldn’t trade her for all the sleep in the world!

Happy birthday, Catarina.

Now stop growing.

I recall someone’s water *possibly* breaking at Richland’s Renaissance Faire the day before! So glad Cat and you guys are doing well. Hugs from the Tri!
